Our Arizona fireplace repair team loves gas fireplaces! They are a beautiful, safe, and energy efficient way to add warmth and atmosphere to your home. Of course, they aren’t immune to needing the occasional repair work done on them. Most of the time an issue with a gas fireplace is a relatively minor one, and you may even be able to find and fix the problem for yourself. Here are some simple things you can check on your broken gas fireplace for yourself:
- Make sure you haven’t blown a fuse. Gas fireplaces should be on their own circuit, ideally, but if they aren’t it could be easy to blow a fuse. Trip the circuit on your breaker box and see if your fireplace ignites.
- Check the fuel levels. Without fuel, your pilot light won’t ignite.
- If there is fuel, check to see if you need to relight the pilot (follow manufacturer’s instructions for safety).
- Clean your fireplace, removing any dirt of dust that has built up. Sometimes a good cleaning is just what your gas fireplace needs to get going again.
